The Center for Global Discovery and Conservation Science leads scientific and technological research focused on climate change. Headquartered in the ASU Pacific Ridge-to-Reef Program, GDCS-Hawai‘i is located in a joint facility in Hilo, Hawai‘i. The facility houses computational and chemical labs, offices, conference rooms, and field operations space, and is located next to the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo, fostering inter-university collaboration across the Hawaiian Islands. GDCS also operates major program elements along the West Hawai‘i Island coastline. ASU Local – West Hawai‘i is also located here, offering students an online undergraduate degree program with opportunities to work alongside faculty and classmates in person.
