Arizona State University's Tempe campus supports a variety of traditions, programs and campus locations that embody the university’s commitment to academic excellence, inclusion and societal impact. ASU's Lantern Walk is a Homecoming tradition, which began in 1917 as a symbolic passing of the torch from the senior class to the junior class. ASU students, faculty, alumni and staff carry lanterns to the summit of "A" Mountain to honor our alma mater. With over 125 years of activities, rallies and momentous occasions to celebrate, Sun Devils are proud to share our campus Points of Pride.
